BOSTON – The National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) has unanimously voted to endorse State Senator Diana DiZoglio in her campaign for State Auditor of Massachusetts.
NAGE cited DiZoglio’s “dedication to improving the lives of those who live and work in the Commonwealth” as the reason for their decision, “from her time working at NAGE to her tenure with the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts to her relentless public service in the state legislature.”
NAGE represents 22,000 workers in over 60 state agencies in Massachusetts. They are public and private workers — federal, state, county, and municipal employees.
“Diana DiZoglio is no stranger to what it takes to make real advancements for labor,” said NAGE National President David J. Holway. “Diana has an incredible drive, a passion for helping others, and a deep appreciation of what it means to serve one’s community. There is no doubt in my mind that she’s the right person for this job.”
“Before I became an elected official, I was a State House staffer,” said Sen. DiZoglio. “I know how hard government employees work, day and night, to serve us. I’m honored to be endorsed by the SEIU’s National Association of Government Employees in my race for State Auditor. I will never stop fighting for the dignity of all workers.”
To date, DiZoglio has been endorsed by more than 100 elected officials across Massachusetts, as well as the Boston Carmen’s Union, Iron Workers Local 7, Machinists District 15, the MBTA Inspectors Union, Operating Engineers Local 4, the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts and Teamsters Local 170.
