BOSTON – Citing her early, passionate support of the State House Employee Union and championship of working people, Senator Diana DiZoglio has been endorsed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 2222 for State Auditor of Massachusetts. “IBEW 2222 is proud to endorse State Senator Diana DiZoglio for Massachusetts State Auditor,” said Myles Calvey, business manager of IBEW 2222. “Senator DiZoglio has a history of supporting organized labor, most recently with her unwavering support of the State House workers efforts to form a union. The legislative staff have joined forces to push for fair wages, pay equity, access to health coverage on day one of employment, and safe working conditions. Senator DiZoglio remains committed to fight for these basic rights while also seeking to win her campaign for State Auditor, and we stand with her.” IBEW Local 2222 represents thousands of telecommunications and technology workers in Greater Boston. The organization has also been the partner of the State House Employee Union – the Massachusetts State Senate employees organizing for healthcare, fair wages, protections from sexual violence, measures to attract and retain diverse talent, and most importantly, a seat at the table with issues affecting their workplace. DiZoglio has stood in early and passionate support with the State House Employee Union, partnering with Beacon BLOC on a survey on State House culture, urging action for worker protections on the Senate floor, joining staffers to highlight systemic failures, and advocating for change in direct opposition to legislative leadership. “I am beyond honored by the endorsement of IBEW 2222 because they understand just how crucial it is that our elected officials stand with working families to ensure healthy, supportive workplaces – our chief accountability officer in particular,” Sen. DiZoglio said. “As Massachusetts’ next State Auditor, I will continue to hold the Beacon Hill establishment accountable to the people and fight on their behalf.”
